55 viewsNvidia debuted its new customizable Nvidia RTX Spark AI chip at Computex 2026, the biggest tech event of the past 24 hours. The chip is meant to be used in a new class of AI-powered machines, such as laptops and PCs, where it will power more sophisticated AI applications that will be able to process data directly on the machine, without calling on cloud-based servers. The technology will be adopted by future products from big companies such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus and Microsoft.
The significance is, however, that the tech companies are going beyond the just simple AI chatbots. The next step involves the development of “agents,” which are artificial intelligence systems capable of handling tasks on users' behalf such as, managing email, organizing files, work scheduling, and even software operations with minimal human intervention. Nvidia is convinced that the new computers could be the greatest paradigm change in personal computing since the smartphone.
The effects might be exceptionally good for the common user. Future computers could be digital assistants, providing a variety of services at a single point, rather than having to open several apps to manually fulfill requests. The technology is still in its early stages, but Nvidia's release is indicative of the steep pace at which the competition to create the next generation of AI-powered devices is gathering momentum, which may radically change the way people interact with technology in the near future.
